Heya folks! Happy spring! I love PA all around, but ESPECIALLY this time of year when Harrisburg is in full bloom. 🥰
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to connect with you all, and I apologize!
On one of my earlier entries, the topic was “reasons why you should hire a cleaning professional." Today, I wanted to (sort of) follow up on that!
This one is for all you DIY people out there, who want to clean on their own but might need a few tips. This is also great advice for clients who are looking for ways to keep things tidy between cleanings!
Here are my recommendations:
1. Develop a Cleaning Schedule
Create a schedule for yourself and your family members to follow, which includes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. This will help everyone stay on track and ensure that no task is overlooked. Make sure to include tasks such as wiping down surfaces, sweeping/vacuuming, and doing laundry.
2. Declutter Regularly
Clutter can quickly accumulate and make a space look messy, even if it's clean. Regularly declutter spaces by donating or discarding items that they no longer need or use. This will help maintain a clean and tidy home.
3. Make the Bed Daily
This simple task can instantly make a room look neater and more organized. Additionally, it will create a sense of accomplishment and motivate them to continue with other cleaning tasks.
4. Clean as You Go
Clean up after yourself as you go about your day. For example, if you cook a meal, clean up any spills or messes as they happen, rather than waiting until the end of the day.
5. Assign Tasks
If you live with family members or roommates, assign cleaning tasks to everyone in the household. This will distribute the workload and ensure that everyone contributes to maintaining a tidy home.
By following these tips, you can keep your home looking clean and tidy! (This next one’s for clients:) Additionally, if you follow these tips, it will make my job easier and more efficient, as I will be able to focus on deep cleaning and other tasks that require my professional expertise.
Happy spring!
